Lydia's new YIN YOGA Workshop coming soon!

Join Lydia for an afternoon to restore and reset within the practice of Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra. Both practices can be deeply nourishing and relaxing, which to us sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The workshop will start with a guided mediation, focusing on the breath, then move into the Yin asana, ending with a guided relaxation in the form of Yoga Nidra.

So what is Yin Yoga to those a bit unsure? Yin Yoga is a relatively still and quiet practice, it targets certain areas of the body, usually below the waist but also the upper body too. Each shape or 'pose' is held for a period fo time between 2-5 minutes which is so the connective tissues can begin to hydrate and glide or 'release'. Yin offers a different sensation to that in a Vinyasa class as we wait for the connective tissue to respond. It is a great style of Yoga to help cultivate patience as in our modern days live being still and quiet can be a rarity!

The workshop will end with Yoga Nidra, translated to as 'Yogic sleep'. Those new to this form of Yoga may understand it best as a form of guided relaxation, where the awareness is directed and rotated to certain parts around the body. It can be deeply relaxing as it helps still the brain waves to similar place as experienced during sleep.

So get warm and cosy, grab blankets, cushions, bolsters, blocks, cat, dogs, duvets (or doonas to those Aussies out there), maybe even a cuppa and settle in.
The workshop is open and accessible to everyone, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner.

As Uma Dinsmore would say "Every part of you is welcome here"!
